If you follow me on Instagram you know I LOVE to travel, snuggle with my bunny Gigi, spending quality time with the hubs, and going thrifting from time to time. As a wedding photographer there is a LOT of work that goes into making sure you’re prepared for your wedding day and one of the most important parts is making sure you feel comfortable being yourselves in front of me by us getting to know each other.
Having that trust in our relationship going into your wedding day is super important so it’s best if we take the time to really get to know each other. That can happen through the questionnaires I send you, the phone calls we have leading up to your day, an engagement session if we have one and even just by following each other on the gram! As we get to know one another we gradually get more and more comfortable with one another which makes for the perfect set up for great photos on your wedding day.
When you think about it you only really get one chance to get the wedding or elopement photos of your dreams, and these photos are ones that you’ll want to look back on for the rest of your lives. I’ve found that the best photos happen when my clients are having fun and feeling confident in themselves, and the best way to get you in that state of mind is feeling fully comfortable with me, your photographer! Most people might feel a little unsure getting in front of a strangers camera and being told to kiss and be all lovey, but doing that with a newfound best friend in the form of your photographer is a much more manageable feat. To help you get to know me, your photographer, here are 5 fun facts you may not know about me!
Before moving to the windy city I was actually born and raised in the Philippines. For the first 10 years of my life I lived there before my sister and I moved here to Chicago.
While in High school I took an AP Art class and had an absolute blast with it. I LOVED working with the scratchboard and soft and oil pastels, but I hated our painting unit lol! It just goes to show that everyone has certain mediums for their artistic outlets that work for them and I think that is SO cool.
During my first year of college I joined a competitive Latin dance group. This was a great way to involve myself in the college community and meet some really awesome people on campus. I in fact got to know my husband through this dance group!
Fortunately, almost all cameras are made with a right handed photographer in mind so I don’t know any difference there. It is a little biased if you think about it though!
I went through the emo/scene phase back in middle school and into high school. We’re talking black clothes, MCR and Fall Out Boy on repeat, the works. While I did eventually grow out of this phase it was still such a fun time in life and I’ll still throw on some of those classic emo songs for a good throwback! So if you put on Thanks For the Memories on your dance floor you know I will be singing and going hard right alongside you!
On your wedding day I will spend more time with you than probably anyone else including your partner! This is why it is SO important that we can have a good time together.
