Sean and Sarah’s romantic wedding at The Signature Room on the 95th Floor was everything they could have hoped for and more. Their simple wedding day was spent surrounded by their closest family and friends. They knew they wanted to focus on spending all their time with their loved ones. Sean and Sarah met through mutual friends and started dating soon after. This eventually led to Sean’s surprise proposal to Sarah. They were sitting outside by the fireplace drinking wine with their dogs when Sarah turned away for a second, only to look back and see Sean on one knee. He asked Sarah to marry him without a ring, and took her to pick out her own the following day!
When Sean and Sarah reached out asking me to document their wedding day they knew they wanted to prioritize spending time with their loved ones on their wedding day. As a hybrid documentary wedding photographer, I was able to document their day in a way that allowed them to be present while still giving them all the photos that they could want from their day. Their wedding day was timeless, family focussed, and everything they wanted out of their day.
Sarah spent the morning getting ready with her loved ones before heading over to the John Hancock Center for their intimate ceremony. Sarah is very close with her father, so seeing them walking down the aisle together to meet Sean at the end was a super emotional moment for her and her family. Their ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt with an absolutely gorgeous view of Chicago behind them. After their ceremony, we were able to take couples portraits of the newlyweds as well as some group photos with family and friends before their wedding reception began.
One of the biggest priorities for Sarah and Sean on their wedding day is to be able to be present and to have fun with their friends and family. Sarah worked really hard to create time in their wedding timeline for them to spend with the ones they care about the most, and that’s exactly what they did! They spent cocktail hour mingling with their guests and then spent their entire wedding reception in The Signature Room on the 95th Floor dancing and celebrating with all of their loved ones. It really was the experience they dreamed of creating and I am SO happy I was able to be a part of it!
I’m so glad I was able to document Sarah and Sean’s wedding in The Signature Room on the 95th Floor. This wedding was beautiful beyond words just like Sarah and Sean’s love for one another!
