Kat and Mateland’s edgy fall elopement in Lincoln Park was such a cool experience. As soon as Kat and Mateland knew it was time for them to tie the knot, they knew that they wanted their elopement to reflect their personalities. We spent their elopement day at their ceremony and then took our time wandering around Lincoln Park snapping some portraits that they will be able to look back on years from now and remember this day.
With all of my elopement couples I really encourage them to be their true selves, and fuck what other people think or what the “norm” or “traditional” way to do weddings is. Kat and Mateland took their time putting together their elopement day and kept all their plans to themselves and their officiant. They both LOVE halloween and wanted an easy way to remember their wedding anniversary which explains why they chose their late fall date for their Lincoln Park elopement. Kat wore an awesome black dress with sparkling stars all over it and Mateland wore a dark green suit. Then to commemorate their day, they both had custom converse made that said bride and groom!
For their fall elopement, Kat and Mateland had their ceremony at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool in Lincoln Park. They had the place to themselves for their intimate fall wedding and all of the leaves throughout the park had changed to absolutely beautiful fall colors. Kat and Mateland knew they wanted to be surrounded by so many warm and fall colors for their ceremony but that they also wanted to be in the city, so Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool became an easy choice for them.
After their intimate elopement ceremony at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, Kat, Mateland and I walked around Lincoln Park taking portraits to commemorate their beautiful fall wedding day. They incorporated so many sweet details in their wedding looks, it was such a fun experience documenting them for the couple so that they could surprise and share all the images with their friends and family on a later date.
We started by the Lincoln Park Conservatory and then headed over to the boardwalk and the honeycomb. Wedding portraits are such an important part of any wedding day. Between the prompts that I create for my couples and the natural interactions that you and your partner have throughout your wedding day, these photos will document the unique and amazing feelings you feel throughout your wedding day.
Kat and Mateland’s fall elopement in Lincoln Park shows exactly what it is that I love so much about elopements and intimate weddings for my couples. Being able to create a day centered completely around the two of you and the unique love that the two of you share is something so special and that I feel everyone deserves to have captured. If you feel the same I’d love to hear from you and capture your own elopement or intimate wedding day! Head over to my contact page and send me an inquiry so we can start planning your day.
