City Hall is one of the most iconic places in Chicago to get married, so when Livia and Jaro asked me to meet up with them to document their elopement I was BEYOND excited to be a part of it. Livia and Jaro had been in their long-distance relationship for FOUR AND A HALF YEARS, yes, you read that right, when they decided this winter that it was time to tie the knot and start a new life together in Chicago.
They wanted to include some of the most iconic spots of the city in their elopement so I was beyond excited to document this new part of their life together. Having your wedding in the city of Chicago is surprisingly simple, and such an awesome experience. If you’re looking for tips in planning an elopement much like Livia and Jaro’s you can check out my blog post on how to elope in Chicago.
I met Livia and Jaro at city hall the morning of their elopement and they were both looking gorgeous. These two came into their wedding day with a vision in mind and holy cow they did not disappoint. We met at the Chicago courthouse for their ceremony and the two were SO excited. There’s nothing I love more than the nervous energy that comes right before a wedding ceremony. These two said their I do’s in the courthouse and then we started making our way through the building taking some photos along the way.
After we made our way out of the courthouse we called an Uber and while we were waiting in the warm entryway, Livia and Jaro took a moment to have their first dance. They danced in the entryway having the best little moment together as newlyweds before we hopped in the Uber and headed out to some of Chicago’s most iconic spots for newlywed photos.
Keeping near City Hall our first location was the Chicago Board of Trade Building. I LOVE this spot as it is one of the most iconic streets/scenes in Chicago. There is so much history in the architecture on this side of town so I love to include this street in City Hall elopements.
After the Chicago Board of Trade Building, we headed over to Millennium Park to soak in the views of the city and take some final photos throughout the park.
I’m so happy that I got the chance to be a part of Livia and Jaro’s City Hall elopement. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
