Savannah and Jonny had me photograph one of my absolute favorite sessions to date as I’ve always wanted to include a motorcycle in a couples session. It worked out perfectly that Jonny owns a motorcycle and not only were the two up for the adventure, but Jonny was able to surprise us both by capping the session off with a proposal to Savannah!
Savannah and I were roomies in college for a semester and we’ve been in touch ever since! Savannah and I put together this session as a sort of creative session, and Jonny never even mentioned that he planned to propose during the session. You can tell how much these two love each other just by looking at their photos. I loved being a part of their surprise proposal.
Before we hop onto Jonny’s motorcycle and get to his surprise proposal, let’s check out the start of the two’s couples session. We started off with a double date at Burger Local, and then walked down to Grahm’s for some ice cream to start their session. I LOVE when a session turns more into an experience, something that you might do normally do on a date night. We took some photos of the two of them eating their ice cream outside Grahm’s. The weather was gorgeous so we were able to play with some prisms to give their photos some dreamy lighting effects and I’m in love with how they turned out.
After our ice cream, we headed back to Savannah and Johnny’s home for a quick outfit change and some photos with their furbaby Muffin. Incorporating Muffin and their home into their photos made their session so special! They are such important parts of their life right now I’m happy we were able to include them. There are so many things that make you who you are and it’s so so important to document them. After a few photos, Savannah and Jonny hopped on their motorcycle and we headed off to James “Pate” Philip State Park for the last bit of their session, and Jonny’s surprise proposal!
We had so much fun at James “Pate” Philip State Park, using Jonny’s motorcycle as a prop was such a fun opportunity and made for some incredible photos. Seriously the energy these two have is so awesome to be around and just had me smiling the whole time.
After getting a good amount of photos together I asked if the two had any other photo ideas they wanted to try. Jonny asked if we could have Savannah stand right in front of the motorcycle, posed like a badass, while he stood by his motorcycle. I was 100% down and before I could even finish telling Savannah how to pose I noticed Jonny on one knee with the ring! I was so shocked I couldn’t even finish my sentence, I had Savannah turn around and you can see the pure joy on both of their faces! Somehow Jonny was able to plan the PERFECT surprise proposal.
I’m so happy that I got to be a part of Savannah and Jonny’s proposal. Between the motorcycle, the ice cream and the surprise of the proposal, what’s not to love? Congrats to Savannah and Jonny, and if you’re looking to plan your own proposal check out my contact page here!
