Chicago is home to some truly incredible venues both for weddings and photography sessions in general. One of my all-time favorites though HAS to be Salvage One which is where Cy and Matt had their engagement session. The Salvage One is located in Chicago’s West Town and has a ridiculous amount of charm and character to it. With a focus on salvaged and reused decorations and a ton of greenery outdoors to work with, it really is a photographer’s dream space.
We started off Cy and Matt’s engagement session inside of Salvage One surrounded by all of its incredible decor. Stone pillars, a massive mammoth statue, gorgeous chandeliers, and elegant seating only begins to scratch the surface of the incredible decorations you’ll find inside. Taking advantage of all this fun and unique decor made Cy and Matt’s session just that much more fun and exciting. These two are already a blast to begin with, so putting them in a place like Salvage One with its variety and character was honestly perfect for their engagement session.
While the inside of Salvage One is full of character, the outside is next level in terms of beauty. The building appears to have been growing Ivy up the sides of its’ walls for decades, making the space a beautiful place for engagement photos in the spring, summer, and fall. One of the best parts of having your engagement session at Salvage One is that you basically have the place to yourself once you schedule your session. There is so much to explore and see, it really is one of the best wedding venues in the city to host your engagement session or your wedding.
Cy and Matt’s engagement session at Salvage One was such an incredible experience. I love engagement sessions because of the unique experience they create and all of the cool locations throughout Chicago that my couples choose to host their sessions.
